Mitra Samaj is a very old restaurant located inside the premises of Krishna Math. Because of its age, many people visit it hoping to experience a small piece of history. Unfortunately, history is the only thing it really offers. The food is average at best, the infrastructure looks neglected, and the customer service is clearly not a priority. Since Udupi is a busy temple town with a constant flow of first time visitors, it feels like the restaurant no longer worries about quality or customer experience. There is no proper crowd management. Some people stand in line while others simply walk in. The owners sit comfortably at the cash counter but seem completely uninterested in answering questions or addressing complaints. The seating space is extremely cramped, you barely have room to move. As for the food, it’s nothing special. In a town full of excellent eateries, this place manages to serve something very forgettable. If you actually want good food, I would recommend Woodlands Restaurant, which is just a short walk away. It has great reviews online (YouTube, Instagram)and is genuinely worth visiting. In short, Mitra Samaj feels like a restaurant surviving purely on its old reputation because the present certainly doesn’t justify it.

Amazing eatery which has 75yr old legacy!! You get the best mangalore buns and goli baaji one would ever have had anywhere in their lifetime:) such is the quality and taste , it's top notch!! Worth a trip to Udupi to taste their menu items;) such quick service despite the crowd, they manage really well, kudos to entire team there!! Hospitality is great:) this is just few mtrs to Krishna temple and do not miss to go here!! Do try their biscuit rotti, Badam milk, Rose milk too:)

Another legend of Udupi! They comply with no onion-garlic requirements without compromise in taste. They serve hot vadas and buns .Masala dosa is also very good. They are famous for Goli baje and those are great too
