We took the easy way out - left the cake to her, completely. Awaiting her creation with bated breaths and expectant stomachs (gastronomic☺️), were we in for yet another unforgettable one!!!
Before we could see the execution of the pièce de résistance concept of hers, we read a note she'd thoughtfully penned for us. She took us through a journey into her mind - how and why she chose what she did and the significance of the totem. Nothing could have ever prepared us for this off beat, deep insight she had, representing what defines reading and books - embracing the world and it's cultures, their leitmotif learning and wisdom. Impossible, frankly, to recall anyone else making this multiple effort - concept, baking and detailing the thought process.

The occasion demanded something special. Mini's home bakes who has a stellar reputation of more than rising to the occasion was approached - the responsibility for not just baking, but conceptualising and designing the cake, entrusted to her slim, capable shoulders.
Trumpet, drum roll, red carpet for her wizardry....we were absolutely AWED by her craftsmanship and vision in designing a PERFECT cake. The coffee chocolate combo was heavenly, moist and perfectly balanced. The edible roses and the scribbled parchments added the delicate nuances and were a perfect foil to the richness within, something which fits perfectly with the idea of reading.
