If you’re looking for authentic Maharashtrian cuisine in Mumbai, Metkut is a must-visit gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy, culturally themed ambiance reflecting the essence of Maharashtra’s food traditions. We visited during lunch hours and tried their traditional thali, which included items like dal, aamti, batata bhaji, sabudana khichdi, puran poli, papad, rice, and chapatis, along with a variety of chutneys and accompaniments. Each dish was rich in flavor yet light on oil, making it a perfect combination of taste and health. Their buttermilk (chaas) was the star of the meal – perfectly spiced, chilled, and incredibly refreshing. The fried snacks and farsan served in the thali were delicious and added a nice contrast in texture. The ambiance is clean and well-lit, with beautiful artwork and traditional décor celebrating Maharashtra's vibrant food culture. Service is fast, efficient, and incredibly friendly – the staff genuinely makes you feel at home. Don’t miss their kharvas (milk pudding) for dessert – soft, lightly sweet, and topped with dry fruits. Everything from the plating to the portion sizes was thoughtfully done. Timings: Ideal for both lunch and dinner. Pricing: Value for money, especially given the quality and variety. Highlight: Hospitality, authentic flavors, and hygienic presentation. Highly recommended for families, food enthusiasts, and anyone wanting a hearty regional meal. We’ll definitely be coming back for more! Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₹1,400–1,600 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Metkut Special Veg Thali, Kothimbir Vadi, Thali Peeth, Alu Vadi
