Honest Review of Meritas Picaddle Resort Lonavala I recently visited this resort with my family, and here’s my detailed experience: Pros: Great for families with kids – The small water park keeps children entertained. Food is delicious – Every meal was tasty and well-prepared. The breakfast was the highlight—a wide variety and absolutely delicious! Honestly, I’ve never had such an amazing breakfast spread at any resort before. Totally worth it! Room service is good. Well-maintained cleanliness – Rooms, pool, and outdoor areas are clean. Cons: Not ideal for couples – Lacks a romantic or peaceful vibe. No scenic views – If you’re looking for a view, this isn’t the place. Overpriced for the room quality – The rooms are basic, with just fancy ceiling lights and a sofa. Nothing luxurious, yet the pricing is high. Not entirely kid-friendly – No safety precautions on stairs, making it risky for toddlers. Be extra careful with small kids, especially in passage areas. Disappointing jacuzzi experience – Paid ₹1K extra for a jacuzzi bathtub, but the water wasn’t hot enough. By the time the tub filled, the water was cold. Even the shower had only mildly warm water. No lifeguards at pools – If you’re bringing kids, never leave them unattended near the pool. It’s best to visit during peak hours when others are around. Spa experience was underwhelming – Overpriced and lacked hospitality. The staff seemed uninterested and didn’t even smile. They just did their job mechanically. My friend, who has sinus issues, had a bad experience with the steam bath—no guidance, no assistance, and she struggled with breathing before exiting on her own. Final Verdict: The resort has some great points, especially the food and breakfast, which were outstanding. But the lack of safety measures, poor spa experience, and overpriced rooms make it a mixed experience. If you’re visiting with family, it’s fine, but don’t expect luxury or great hospitality. My experience at the resort was good overall, thanks largely to the courteous and responsive staff. There are enough things to do inside the resort for a relaxing and fun staycation. However, given the premium charges, there are several areas that need improvement, especially in the reservation process, maintenance and restaurant. The reservation process felt very unprofessional to me. Despite booking.com showing “no prepayment required,” I was later informed that I needed to pay in advance due to my one-day stay. When I requested to pay before check-in, the reservation staff rudely informed me that my booking was cancelled. She even went ahead and suggested I shouldn’t visit the resort. Fortunately, when I arrived, the hotel staff quickly facilitated a fresh booking at the same online rate. A big thanks to Leha for her assistance. The service was quick and efficient across departments. Front desk staff, room service, and other team members were attentive and made the stay comfortable. Despite some challenges, I look forward to another stay here, particularly due to the staff's hospitality and the enjoyable activities offered. With a few adjustments, this resort could elevate its offerings to truly match the premium price. Service: 5

Despite the glowing recommendations, the reality was starkly different. The food lacked flavor and finesse, making the journey from Bombay feel like a regrettable effort. Far from being a culinary delight, the dishes were unpalatable and failed to meet even the most basic expectations.
