Had a very horrible experience at mekong today! Went ahead with a lot of high expectations but only to be disappointed. The food was honestly bland and tasteless and extremely overpriced. The staff was highly unprofessional and were not even able to suggest which are the best dishes as they were more focused on the buffet option. Felt like the staff was prioritising other customers and there was a clear bias seen not sure what is the reason. If you are in a doubt if you should give this place a shot I would genuinely not recommend it as I think there are better pan Asian restaurants in Hyderabad. I went for brunch at this restaurant with a friend on 14th September , and unfortunately, the experience was a complete letdown—especially given that it’s located in a 5-star property and charges ₹2500 per person for the set brunch menu. To begin with, there was no dedicated server assigned to our table. We had to repeatedly flag down whichever waiter happened to pass by. The brunch was a fixed menu, but nothing on it really stood out. The wait staff had very little knowledge about the drinks being served, and most of the dishes tasted bland. The few items that were somewhat tolerable were the rice shrimp wrap and the apricot delight. The sushi was particularly disappointing—it wasn’t made with sushi rice, so it lacked authenticity. Courses were delayed, and we had to keep reminding the staff to bring the next one. The main course was very average; we barely had more than a bite. To make matters worse, one of the managers instructed a waiter to serve us leftovers from another table’s vegetable noodles salad. I had to stop the waiter and insist on a fresh serving. Dessert was another ordeal—we waited for a long time, only for a manager to approach us and pointedly ask what we were waiting for, as if to hurry us out. Overall, the food was insipid, the service chaotic, and the hospitality far from the standards one would expect from a luxury property. At this price point, I expected quality, attentiveness, and at least a basic sense of professionalism. Sadly, this brunch was none of those things. I would not recommend it.
