Disappointing Experience at Meghdut (Ujjain) I’ve always been a fan of Meghdut, but my recent visit to this particular branch left much to be desired. The food was below average, starting with the masala papad. It arrived with just onion and tomato pieces, but no sev, which is typically an essential part of this dish. Next, the crispy veg was a letdown – they served bhajis made from bell peppers, cauliflower, and onions, which is not what I was expecting. It was overly salty due to an excessive amount of chaat masala. To make matters worse, the service was extremely slow. We had to wait almost 45 minutes for our food, even though we arrived at 7 PM. This kind of delay is unacceptable, especially when dining out during peak hours. I’m disappointed with this experience and will be more cautious before visiting any Meghdut location in the future. Firstly owner should rename this from Meghdut Panjabi Dhaba to Meghdut Punjabi Dhaba in my view to avoid any misunderstanding. Meghdut Punjabi Dhaba in Ujjain is a gem for authentic Punjabi cuisine. Their Sarso Da Saag with Makka Roti is a must-try—rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced, it captures the essence of traditional cooking. The ambiance is simple yet welcoming, adding to the charm of the place. Portions are generous and prices reasonable, making it an excellent value for money. A highly recommended spot for anyone craving authentic Punjabi flavors!
