Every now and then, I have been seeing the posts of #Meatscape restaurant , be it about their kadaknath haleem or their succulent kebas or their ouzi. I have been there twice and had to return without eating anything - once as most of their menu dishes were not present and second time there was no power and generator did not get kicked in even after a wait of 10 minutes.
After few #haleem posts from this place, we decided to give it a try again and visited this yesterday. Yesterday was no different and couple of dishes from the menu that we asked were already done :/ . We first tried what is a seasonal fav - Haleem. The team here prepares #KadaknathHaleem (its black chicken, for those who are not aware) and is the only place which sells this in hyderabad. We ordered 1 portion along with generous amount of sherwa. Sherwa was almost next to bland and haleem was very loose in consistency. Priced at 220/-, this comes nowhere near to the taste of mutton haleem nor the consistency is! Next order on the list was Peshwari Pahadi kebab with Afghan naan. Afghani naan, as far as I know is supposed to be an unleavened bread; this however had yeast in it. Traditional or not, bread was really good and peshwari kebab did taste great.
Mediterranean lamb was our order for main course which generally comes with afgani naan- but we opted for mandi rice. Mandi rice again was delicious , lamb however was undercooked and too chewy to enjoy the dish. Its a mixed experience with few goods and few mehs and I'm yet to try some popular dishes of theirs - before I can conclude, I would not hesitate to give this place another try.
