They only had veg version of it, which was for Rs 209 after putting Zomato coupons and all. I was okay with the price, it’s decent seeing the ratings of the place, but on a higher end.
Anyway, I added in the cooking instructions if it is possible to make it a non veg version.
I got a call from the restaurant that they’ll make the meal non veg for an extra 173 Rs which is too much. Seeing their veg and non veg menu I could clearly see that the difference between the two is not that steep. The person on the call said he’ll round it off to 150. I wasn’t so sure, but seeing the reviews I really wanted to try their food.
So basically I paid 209+150 Rs for a bowl of noodles with 2-3 pieces of chicken and 3 dimsums.
Coming to the food, the packaging was nice and let me tell you that was the only nice thing. The dimsums had become really soggy in that bowl, the skin had separated from the filling, so I couldn’t eat it all at once. The chicken gravy was okayish but too less in quantity, it didn’t cover the entire noodles, just some of the top part.
The noodles were TOTALLY bland had no flavour whatsoever. No veggies nothing. In the cooking instructions I had requested to send them some red chilli sauce, which they didn’t.
And the best part they haven’t mentioned in the menu that the last layer and component of the meal bowl is OIL. So yeah that’s an additional yayy. Well, not. Disappointed to say the least ????????♀️
Prior to this, I did not have a go to Chinese place in Gurgaon. Chinese to me was like a side dish most restaurant kept in their menu when their main attraction was something else. Chinese for those restaurants was their mistress on the side!
But things were about to change, a Mistress revolution awaited us!!
We ordered the Honey Chilly Potato, 2 DIY Meal Asian Bowls. One with Brown Fried Rice (because psuedo healthy is also healthy) with Black Bean Sauce and the other Pan fried noodles with Thai Basil Sauces.
First up, the honey chilly potato was still crispy when we opened the box! That is worth mentioning as this is rarer than Gurgaon not flooding after a 10 minute rain shower. #excuseforordering
Both the DIY meals were non spicy (just as we expected) and were brilliantly done! The quantity, quality and the price were surprisingly very good. You know that moment when you have ordered food and are full but still go on because it is too tasty? That is what happened with this food!
But great job from the Me Kong Bowl team!
