Maven Kitchen is a hidden gem for authentic Naga and Manipuri cuisine, tucked away in a narrow alley that makes parking almost impossible. But once you step inside, it’s spotless, cozy, and welcoming—like a quiet escape from the busy streets. The menu is a love letter to authentic Naga and Manipuri cuisine, and we decided to dive right in. Our culinary adventure began with the Pork Chilli—juicy, well-cooked, and served in a generous portion. Then came Manipuri sticky rice, soft and subtly fragrant, paired with Smoked Pork Ribs with Axone (fermented soybeans). The flavor was strong and bold—true to its roots—but the aroma and taste might feel a bit overwhelming if you’re not used to it. The meat quality varied too—one piece was all fat, another all meat. Next up was the much-awaited Crispy Pork. It took around 40 minutes to prepare, but the texture was spot on—crunchy outside, tender inside, and with the right meat-to-fat balance. The only downside? It was completely bland to our spice-loving palates - just pure, honest pork. If you’re someone who enjoys trying new cuisines and appreciates authentic flavors, this is worth a try. They also serve unique fermented juices made from banana, pineapple, and grapes—something you won’t find in many places. Overall, Maven Kitchen is perfect for those looking to experience genuine Northeast flavors. Go with an open mind, some patience, and a big appetite for something different. The menu is almost entirely non-vegetarian. Dietary restrictions: Many items include Axone (fermented soybeans) and other strong-flavored fermented elements, which may not suit everyone’s palate.

Visiting this place had been on my bucket list for the past 6 months, ever since I was in kerela. And yes, finally I visited! I have to say, their pork curries taste straight out of a home kitchen. We all know the pork quality in Bangalore isn’t usually great, but the pork I had here instantly took me back to my hometown, Nagaland. I tried the Pork with Bamboo Shoot Thali. Overall, the pork curry was a solid 10/10. However, I’m not sure why they served me two Manipuri dishes, and as we all know, Naga meals are incomplete without chutney, which they didn’t serve. I also tried the Crispy Pork. The quantity was so much that I had to pack the leftovers. Taste-wise, I’d give it 6/10 just deep-fried pork blocks with no seasoning. They only provided soy sauce and tomato-chili sauce for dipping. Anyway, I still thank them for letting us enjoy a proper home-cooked meal. P.S. My pure vegetarian friend had only two options, Veg Fried Rice or Veg Fried Noodles. And yeah he didn’t have the same spiritual experience I did. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹1,200–1,400 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Vegetarian offerings: Not sure Vegetarian options: If you’re a pure vegetarian, then this place is a big NO. But if you’re okay dining among people eating meat, then it’s fine. There are 2 options for vegetarians (Veg fried rice & Noodles) my friend, who is a vegetarian, had veg noodles and a vanilla shake.
