As i enunciated in one of my previous reviews on a restaurant, it is quite a rarity to find a restaurant that holds it's crown as a reputed fine dine with a creatively curated menu where the service too stands commendable, the antics and showcases too but most of all the food staying true to it's expected delivery or beyond. And this author is happy to tag Mauve as not just a unique gastronomical experience for the senses and the belly but also an indulgent ride into the graciousness of being a well-regarded fine dine that deserves a shoutout and a must-visit tag. From the first entre to the dessert, which involved Asian, continental and modern Indian cuisines transitioning seamlessly, the experience was rich and flavoursome. I was with a friend and rode our way scrupulously to this fancy restaurant and I was very excited to try it out. We were welcomed into a building with sublime lighting that sets the mood of tranquility and pleasure with tinge of intimacy. the staff were quite helpful and had good recommendations to make from the menu. We ordered the Palak Patta Chaat with Italian Burrata, Soonth Chutney and Mint Chutney, Kasuri Methi, Muttar Paneer Tikka, Edamame Sushi, African Jambalaya Rice, Grilled Vegetables, Roasted Tomato Sauce and finally, for dessert we ordered Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate and a Guava Smoked Paprika Mocktail. The Palak Patta Chaat was a divine dish that had ingredients that didn't make me miss the traditional Patta Chaat served on the street. Crisp, rich, tangy, sweet, spicy and every so slightly bitter, this dish has taken my breath away for it's creativity and expert preparation. The Kasuri Methi Muttar Paneer Tikka was unlike any other Paneer Tikka I ever tasted. Succulent, Soft and Sapid in every bite. A great balance of textures with the addition of crispy peas was a true testament of how this gastronomical experience doesn't think of where it ends but the start with the aromas, textures and tastes felt graciously in the mouth. Edamame Sushi was wholesomely flavorsome unlike any other Sushi I ever tasted. It had immense depth of flavour and intense accompaniments that elevated the humble sushi to unimaginable heights of taste. As we come to the African Jambalaya Rice, I couldn't help but think of it as African Dum Biryani with Vegetables on the side and instead of Raita we get a smoked tomato sauce. The middle eastern spice notes and aromatics imbued into the rice were magical and monumental. It was almost like the Indian version of Harissa with a touch of Italian Arrabiatta. The Guava Smoked Paprika Mocktail is an unconventional refresher to the palette. It was a Mocktail I could have any day of the week. And finally, the dessert was an epic dessert with theatrics of satisfaction. Neither too sweet nor too bitter but an overload of chocolate balanced by a cold large scoop of beautifully smooth vanilla ice cream. While the cost may be on the higher end, it certainly had me craving the taste of every morsel of food it served and I could crown Mauve as one of the best restaurants I have ever visited in Ahmedabad. Whether it's a day or a family outing to celebrate an occasion, this restaurant shall be on your list without fail for it's delectable food and commendable service. I tout it as a must visit.
