Finally, we got to visit this very popular Dabeli joint at Matunga. Had always heard about it but due it's not so obvious location, had never seen it and hence not visited it. Just a few minutes from Matunga central railway station and an equal few minutes from the Matunga Circle, Matunga Dabeli is in a little lane and therefore not easily visible when you walk on the main road which has all the temples. However, if you pay close attention or ask a local, it's easily found. I guess what works here is the simplicity of the dabeli. There's a list of different Dabeli - with cheese, butter, the Dabeli Misal, Jain Dabeli etc., primarily to suit every foodie's specific demand and taste. But what worked for me best was the basic Butter dabeli. Apt Crispiness of the bread made warm on the tawa with butter and just enough of the delicious dabeli filling inside it, makes it perfect for a quick bite when on the move. Pricing is reasonable too. I'm so glad to have finally visited this one. Will be back again for sure, whenever around Matunga. Service: Dine in Price per person: ₹1–200 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
