Tried: Tuppa Dosa, Poori Bhaji Tasty food at reasonable rates. The place is clean and a clean bathroom is available for use. They also offer a good variety of pickles,happala(papad) and snacks like chakuli, chips, and mixture. You can even find bamboo shoot products. Highly recommend trying their Mavinkai (mango) gojju and pickle — both are flavorful and authentic! Note : Gpay is not accepted ( they've put up a board mentioning this), so it's better to carry cash Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: ₹1–200 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Tuppa Dosa Ghee Dosa

This hotel is conveniently located right beside the highway. The food is excellent—highly recommend trying the Avalakki Mosaru and Idli Mosaru. Prices are reasonable; not too expensive or too cheap. Overall, I had a great experience, especially with the food quality and taste. Washrooms/toilets are available. Parking space is provided in front of the hotel. We recently visited the Mari Bhattara Hotel in Gunavante while returning from the Idugunji Mahaganapati Temple. Situated on the left side of the road towards Honnavara, this restaurant is one of the oldest in the village, well-known for its Tuppa Dosa (Ghee Dosa), Mosaru Avalakki (Poha with curd), and Misal Baji (local snacks). Our family has been stopping at this hotel for years whenever we visit Idugunji, and it consistently delivers a reliable and pleasant dining experience. I am happy that the quality of the Tuppa Dosa and Mosaru Avalakki has been impressively maintained over the years. Both dishes were as delightful as ever, perfectly embodying the flavors we remembered. However, the Misal Baji was quite disappointing and did not meet our expectations. Despite this, the coffee was good and provided a pleasant end to our meal. The service at Mari Bhattara Hotel was fast and courteous, which was particularly impressive given how crowded the restaurant was. Despite the hustle and bustle, the cleanliness of the establishment was commendable. In addition to the main menu items, the restaurant also offers a selection of local snacks for purchase, including Happala (papad), pickles, Majjige Menasu, fried ground nuts, and other savory items. These make for excellent takeaways and allow visitors to bring a piece of their experience home. Parking is sufficient, adding to the overall convenience of dining here. The restaurant offers excellent value for money, and the toilet facilities are kept clean, which is always a plus. Mari Bhattara Hotel operates from 7 AM to 7:30 PM, though Dosa is not available from 1 PM to 4 PM, which is designated as lunchtime. After 4 PM, you can enjoy a variety of chat items. For those seeking homely, tasty food, this is an excellent stop while visiting Idugunji, Murdeshwara, or traveling to Bhatkal.
