"Unique and quirky dishes, old and simple ambience, not that hygienic-looking, and okayish service". It's quite an old restaurant that's known for its signature, unique, and quirky dishes such as Gulab Jamun Ki Sabji and Haldi Ki Sabji. I ordered those two as well as Makhaniya Lassi, Kabuli, and Malai Roti. They also have Mewa Cream which is apparently a popular dessert here. The ambience is very simple and 'old'. It can feel quite congested and a bit crowded. Don't expect too much in ambience. Also, it did not seem like the place was that hygienic. Service is okay, it doesn't take much time for the food to arrive at the table. Staff is friendly enough. But one of the staff members seemed a bit frustrated when I asked them about fans. Fans were not working at the time of my visit. The restaurant also did not have any items ready at afternoon (about 1 PM). They had a lunch service delay on the day of my visit. They asked me to come back after 40 minutes or so. I had to roam around and come back. Gulab Jamun Ki Sabji: It is basically unsweetened gulab jamun balls (fried gulab jamun balls before being dipped in sugar syrup) in a creamy, tomato-ey gravy - a bit similar to paneer butter masala's gravy but not as flavorful. The overall dish is not that sweet as one might initially think. One can describe it as "mildly sweet and milk-y khoa dumplings in a paneer butter masala-like gravy but lighter and less flavorful". Haldi Ki Sabji: The gravy is similar to the one in Gulab Jamun Ki Sabji. The difference is that in this, they use grated raw/fresh turmeric. You can definitely taste the earthy turmeric in the dish. Kabuli: It's like a pulao with onions and a few veggies. I did not find it to be that flavorful. Malai Roti: It was sweet and a bit creamy. A bit soggy as well. Overall, if you are into unique or quirky Jodhpuri dishes, you can definitely visit this place! Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₹200–400

Visited Shandar Sweet Home to try their famous Gulab Jamun ki Sabzi and Kabuli Pulao, and both were absolutely delicious! The flavors were unique and totally worth trying. The Gulab Jamun Sabzi isn’t sweet, so don’t expect a dessert-like taste because it’s a savory dish and really well made. The only downside is that the quantity is a bit less and the seating is limited, so you might have to wait around 10–15 minutes during busy hours. Overall, a must-visit for anyone exploring local Rajasthani food in Jodhpur. Would definitely visit again!
