I visited a couple of days back and under the circumstances, we were the only patrons.
Small space. A good effort has been made to make the space light, eye-catching with no clutter.
Food is the highlight. Both quantity and quality are good. We had fresh tasting baba ganoush, light pita bread, falafel with hummus (Both were fresh and tasty), shish taouk (well marinated and cooked meat).
Rest of the experience didn't work for me:
1. Wash basin was extremely dirty. There was no water supply in the tap.
2. Service, while always smiling and polite, was careless and negligent. We had to repeatedly ask for plates, paper napkins, plastic glasses provided for water were dirty.
3. Lemonade ordered barely had taste of lemon. When pointed out, a corrected order was given. While better than the previous one, it was hardly saying much.
4. Unfortunately at this point, my expectation had dropped. So, when the power went out and the staff wasn't able to get the backup to work, frankly, I wasn't too surprised.
I hope the service improves. If this place doesn't survive the test of time many will miss out on the food, otherwise.
The place was clean and it's located on the main road , so its hard to miss. The staff is very friendly and recommends the best dishes. The ambience was calm with light music in the background.
The best part is the food, don't let the place deceive you, at first it may look small but the food is filled with authentic taste and richness. Kudos to the chef.
We had ordered Falafel roll(5/5)
beef shawarma (5/5) ,
prawns harissa (5/5),
Awsal beef (5/5)
Greek turkey burger (4/5)
cheese manakish(4.5/5)
a lemonade and a virgin mojito.
Every dish was exploding with arabic flavors.
The falafel roll was extremely delicious, a crispy falafel wrapped in a pita along with pickled veggies and sauce was mind blowing.
The prawns were succulent little bombs of spicy goodness.
The beef was well cooked and seasoned, not too chewy or rubbery, it was perfect. You get to choose a side dish with it, we went with a Caesar salad, which accompanied the protein very well.
The burger was towering, with two crispy mince beef patties, layered with onions , Tomatoes, sauce and cheese strips. But there's a twist, it's not your regular burger with a bun, instead they have got pita bread as there bun, which was quite good.
Finally we tried the cheese manakish, it was an overload of cheese and black olives with spices and herbs on a soft pita bread base. Kinda like an Arabic pizza.
We wanted to try the baklava and the heavenly kunafa, but it was out of stock, a lot of demand for those Deserts, I was a bit sad ????. Will surely go back to try those.
I highly recommend this place to all the food lovers, dont skip this masterpiece.
