Malpe Hotel (near Malpe Beach, Udupi) is a place I absolutely loved. I’d easily rate it 5/5, but with the right expectation. This is not a high-class or family-style hotel — it’s perfect if you’re with friends or fellow food lovers. Being from Andhra, I wanted to taste authentic Udupi-style fish curry, and this place delivered perfectly. The menu is simple: veg meals with fish curry, and you can choose from a wide variety of fresh seafood like Anjal (king of the sea), Tuna, Bangda, Prawns, Shrimps, Octopus, and more. What makes it special is that the fish is cooked fresh in front of you on a big tawa and served hot with meals. The veg meals cost just ₹60, which is extremely affordable and comes with rice, dal, curd, and fish curry gravy. We tried 6–7 different fish items, and every single one was excellent. Anjal fish and shrimp fry were outstanding — especially the shrimp fry, which was next level. The atmosphere is lively, chaotic, and full of food lovers, which made the experience even more memorable.
