The property looked nice. Unfortunately due to an error on our part, we couldn't stay at the hotel - but the folks at the reception were very helpful and welcoming. We utilized the spa - it was fantastic, and had a meal at the restaurant which was about average. Might go back here, just for the quality of service. Service: 5

It was a bad experience. We went to dinner at 8 and left the premises at 11:30. The restaurant was understaffed with more than half the food in the menu not available and slow service. One would expect the food to be good if they're taking an hour to prepare it, but contrary to our expectations it was bad. The starters were too spicy, i could handle the spice but the other 7 in my group could not and so asked them to tone down the spice a bit and later we ordered biryani and to our surprise it was just bland so we ordered the biriyani again and asked them to make it spicy but it was bland again. Ordered golden fried prawns but instead got roadside rava prawns. The chef is a bad cook. Every starter sucked. Their soups are bad, nothing authentic. Ordered Tibetan thupka soup not instead got watered down Manchurian soup with broccolis in it. Their mocktail(thirst worksheet) sucks. Coming to the ambience the server literally didn't turn on the lights and bad music playing at some corner in an annoying way. Seating arrangement good for light meals/breakfast but not for heavy meals/lunch and dinner. Coming to deserters there were only five options available and only the chocolate pudding is good. The sizzling brownie in hive restaurant is leagues ahead of this one, stingy in their chocolate sauce on the desserts and trying to save in any way possible. IF YOU'RE READING THIS THEN DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE OF GOING HERE INSTEAD GO TO HIVE OR MALNAD GATEWAY OR SOME OTHER PLACE. When it came to the bill it was a bit costly as expected of this place but i asked them to cancel the 5% service charges which i wanted to give to our server personally as i do not trust the restaurants to give it to them but again to my disappointment the server has gone home an hour earlier. The server served other customers(family) first instead of us even though we arrived first and still we thought of tipping him but to our suprise he had gone home an hour earlier. It was an horrible experience overall. I don't think this restaurant can ever do better to be given a second chance at their food. This is the kind of restaurant you visit only for the hype and not for good food/service.

The Malnad Shire provided an excellent experience overall. The ambience was very good - the decor and atmosphere were charming and inviting. We tried both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, and the food was absolutely delicious, with spot-on flavors. The service was also good, with the staff being attentive and helpful. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would highly recommend Malnad Shire Hotel to anyone looking for a wonderful dining experience. Service: 5
