As a Mangalorean, I’m always on the lookout for good coastal food, and I can confidently say that Malabar Street Kitchen truly stole my heart. On my first visit, I had their Chicken Ghee Roast, Appam, Pineapple Menaskai and Serradura, and each dish was outstanding. The Ghee Roast (a dish I've grown up with and one that I'm really particular about) was a standout: rich, flavourful, and beautifully spiced without being overwhelming. The Appams were like clouds, soft and airy, perfect for soaking up their delicious gravies, and the Serradura dessert was a sweet surprise from the chefs that I hadn’t expected but instantly loved. I had been studying in Bangalore up until recently. The food left such a lasting impression on me that when I returned home to Mumbai two days ago, I insisted that my father order from them again. This time, I had the Prawns Moilee, the Chicken Gassi with rice rottis and, of course, the Ghee Roast again (I'm a creature of habit but I'm loyal to quality) and all of them were absolutely perfect. The Prawns Moilee was delicate and comforting, with perfectly cooked prawns in a silky coconut gravy. Their Chicken Gassi was so good that it reminded me of a memory of me at 12 years old standing next to my grandma in her kitchen smelling her cooking. I'm sure she would approve :) Malabar Street Kitchen is one of those rare places that gets everything right, from authentic South Indian coastal flavors to top-quality ingredients and consistent execution by their hardworking staff. You can really tell the amount of love and research that the chefs have poured into curating their diverse menu right from the first bite (you guys should be really proud of yourselves). So for all of you South Indians missing food from your hometown, it's easier to drive down to Chembur than booking your flight tickets, because Malabar is the epitome of comfort food. I can't WAIT for my next trip there. Highly, highly recommend! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Thoroughly disappointed. Ordered Prawns roast. It as tasting like a punjabi curry with old refrigerated coconut amd few curry leave s thrown in. Their Coorg Chicken was terrible with unmarinated xhicken peices mixed in coconut milk with some pepper. Nothing authentic about this outlet in Chembur.Probably they have picked up some cooks from the roadside and asked them to prepare this stuff. Giving a bad name to the delicious Malabari cuisine. Avoid . Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

We’re sorry to hear that our food didn’t live up to your expectations. To clarify, our prawn roast does not contain any coconut and has a very different flavour profile to a Punjabi curry. We value all kinds of feedback but find the personal remarks about our chefs disheartening - we pour a lot of skill and heart into honouring our traditional recipes. We are committed to learning and improving while maintaining the authenticity of our menu. Thank you.
