This is a stupendous place.. Represents one of the old school cuisine of Mysore. The interiors are nice and very much at peace with simplicity. Started with a cup of coffee and I was drowned in its taste. Went for another round in the end. The idly was as soft as a cloud during monsoon. The sambar is one of the best I've had at Mysore and it's coconut chutney was the perfect partner. Vada was served fresh and hot and yet sooooo crispy such that the Neighbors could hear me eating it. To end with their kesari bath was superb. Perfect hint of sweetness and good amt of pineapple pieces too. I soo love this place!!!! Cheers!! On a recent road trip from Bengaluru to Coorg, I found myself craving an authentic vegetarian breakfast. After asking friends and colleagues for recommendations, one name kept coming up—Mahesh Prasad Veg Restaurant in central Mysore. Though it meant a slight detour, I could not resist checking out this iconic spot, which has been serving delicious food for decades. As soon as I arrived, it was clear that I wasn’t the only one drawn to this gem of a place. The place was jam-packed. After about a 10-minute wait to get a seat and another 10 minutes for my food, I was finally able to dive into a piping hot Mysore Masala Dosa, a flavorful Bisi Bele Bath, and a sweet, comforting Kesari Bath to top it up. And let me tell you—it was worth every minute of the wait. The flavors were simply nostalgic, taking me right back to my childhood days. Each dish was prepared with such care, and it’s easy to see why Mahesh Prasad is still a crowd favorite after all these years. But here’s the thing—this is no place for those expecting fancy service or a "first come, first serve" policy. The vibe here is simple: if you want something good, be prepared to wait. And trust me, it's worth waiting for it. Parking can be a bit tricky, but you can usually find a spot in one of the nearby lanes. If you're heading to Mysore, Mahesh Prasad is an absolute must-try for a breakfast experience that won't disappoint you. Prices are reasonable, and the food? Simply unforgettable.
