Over the span of three days, we dined multiple times at Mahakal Restaurant and tried a wide variety of dishes including egg thali, veg thali, chicken bharta, dal makhani, ruti, mixed veg, chicken noodles, chilli chicken, and more. The food was absolutely delicious and consistently flavorful, showcasing authentic taste and good preparation. However, the quantity served felt a bit insufficient for the price, which was slightly higher than expected. The place is always crowded, reflecting its high demand, and it can get a bit chaotic during peak hours. Located conveniently in the main mall area, Mahakal has several other branches under its chain, which speaks to its popularity. Despite the rush and slightly premium pricing, the overall experience was satisfying, and it’s clear why this restaurant enjoys such a loyal customer base. 4/5 Stars – Disappointing Dining Experience I recently visited Hotel Mahakal and Restaurant in Darjeeling and left quite disappointed. While the location is convenient, the food quality was below expectations. The dishes lacked freshness and flavor, and some items tasted reheated. Hygiene standards also seemed questionable, which affected my overall dining experience. Service was slow, and the staff appeared indifferent to feedback. For the price charged, I expected better quality and attention to detail. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place for a satisfying meal. The staf behaver is so rude..the service is very bad…and they give one day before briyani…don’t waste your money
