Indian cuisine is served at this restaurant. The convenient location of Madurai Kumar Mess makes it easy to reach by any transport. 4.1 is what this place got from the Google rating system.
Recently visited Madurai Kumar Mess recently, and honestly, the experience was underwhelming. The food taste is just average – nothing unique compared to other South Indian non-veg spots. But the pricing is way too high for what they serve. The portions don’t justify the cost, and it doesn’t feel worth the money spent. For the same price, there are many restaurants in Chennai serving much better quality and quantity. If you’re expecting authentic taste and value, Kumar Mess is disappointing. A must try spot for delicious Chettinad cuisine. A fan of their tiffin spread, but not a big fan of their lunch menu. Try their Chettinad Chicken 65, a different take on the regular Chicken 65. The best part of how they serve you. All the waiters are very friendly here. Price per person: ₹400–600 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Vegetarian offerings: Vegetarian menu or section
We recently visited Kumar Mess for dinner. The place is quite decent, and the customer service was good. Despite it being 10 PM, the restaurant was still completely crowded, which speaks to its popularity. However, the portion sizes are extremely disappointing for the prices they charge. For example, the Chicken Curry Dosa was barely the size of a coin parotta, yet it cost ₹350. For families, the pricing feels like a scam considering the quantity provided. On the plus side, they offer free parking and the dining area is spacious, which adds to the comfort. Verdict: Good ambiance and service, but overpriced for what you get—especially if you’re dining with family. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹600–800 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
