Maybe I’m the wrong kind of person to go to such a place but it was so underwhelming. The place is sad, has old furniture, terrible lighting, staff are loud. The food was underwhelming for me, ordered Mangalore Buns, which were fine. 7/10 The masala dosas were thick and greasy. 5/10 Ordered a filter coffee which we never got. I don’t see how someone can randomly forget a simple order while the restaurant is not even half full. So 0/10 Their kitchen is see through but very dimly lit, I don’t think they can even see dirt if there is any. Some cleaning staff was cleaning rags in the hand-wash area which is gross, it’s a decently large place which should have a separate place for this. I generally really like food like this but this was personally very bleh for me. If you like old world rustic charm, sure go there. Personally, I don’t recommend it. I had great expectations about this restaurant but sadly was highly disappointed. I took Mini tiffin combo to try out all the varieties and this is my feedback. - Idly : 10/10 - Vada : 10/10 - Upma : 5/10. It was very oily and salty. - Masala dosa : 4/10. I had real difficulty finishing this dosa. The batter is different and this the first time i disliked dosa in any hotel. - Sambar : 5/10. No flavor and was very salty. - Chutney : 10/10 - Coffee : 10/10 Overall i did not see any unique factor about the food that should have set MTR apart from other hotels. With this sort of taste i will prefer a local darshini and save some money as well.
