I usually have:
1. Non-veg Misal Pav - Awesome
2. Tambda Rassa - Awesomest
3. Pandhra Rassa - Awesomest
4. Any Chicken/Mutton dish - Really good
5. Sol Kaddhi - Could be better.
6. Chappatti - Really good
7. Veg/Non-Veg Thali - Really good.
8. Mutton misal - Really good and somthing different
Suggestions: Make the dish and place presentable. The food is garnished the way it used to be in late 80s. The same old steel plate with threw in chopped Coriander.Invest in the decor and training your cook. This place has the potential to make it to top restaurants list in Pune without a doubt.
MH09 is a Godsend. It's a gorgeous place where taste and spice come together in a mouth-watering orgy of awesome.
Okay, now that I'm done gushing, let's get down to the facts.
If you don't like spicy food, stay the heck away.
MH09 doesn't look like much, but it packs a fabulous punch. The most stellar dish I had (and then had multiple times after) is the mutton misal pav. Oh my lord, it's amazing. In fact, despite my hardcore carnivore status, I'm willing to eat the misal pav itself, and by choice, not by force. The taste of every morsel is amazing. Contrary to the norm (alright, this is a belief I have) the vegetarian food is also amazingly tasty. I've eaten the baingan bharta, the pithla and bhakri, and on occasion, the mutton thaali. The vegetarian food far far outshone the non-vegetarian, and it takes me a lot of effort to admit this. It was really good stuff. Eaten on-site, the bhakris are soft and fresh, the rassas served with the thaalis are perfectly flavoured, and the mutton bursts with flavour.
If you like spice, this is your destination, at least at some point in time. Ignore the fact that you're almost at the highway, and think about the taste-bud joy.
