Such a peaceful corner and amazing food. Enjoyed the salad with sardines, the crispy perch, chicken steak and the butcher’s bounty burger to be topped with desserts among us. I called the restaurant feeling a bit sceptical when I found out it was reservation-only, especially since it meant travelling almost an hour from Baga. Still, I made the reservation—and I’m glad I did. I’m not one of those photo-clicking, social-media dining people. I go for the experience. When I arrived, I was surprised to see a small, intimate space—and even more surprised to be welcomed not by staff, but by the chef and owner of Low and Slow himself. He greeted us warmly and genuinely hoped that the travel had been worth it and that we would have a good experience. The vibe immediately sets the tone—old rock music playing in the background, setting a relaxed, timeless mood. The walls are adorned with pictures of Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, and John F. Kennedy—not just décor, but real conversation starters that add character to the space. He took our order personally. Despite the restaurant being completely full, he went to every table, checking in with guests to ask if the food and service were good. That level of involvement is rare—and it shows. The meal was outstanding. I ordered their famous brisket, and was it worth the hype? Oh yes. Melt-in-the-mouth meat, flavours that were deep and unforgettable. It was so good that I didn’t even want to drink—I didn’t want to compromise the taste by even a fraction. The warmth didn’t stop with the food. The owner carried the same humility and passion throughout the evening. I also had the privilege of meeting his beautiful wife, and both of them are incredibly open to suggestions and conversation. Hearing how this place was built from the ground up, and how they’ve consciously kept it intimate while delivering food and service that feels worth an arm and a leg—was truly special. And yet, the reality? The food is surprisingly affordable. Our bill for two people didn’t even cross ₹1800. Honestly, even if it had been more, I would’ve paid happily. As a beautiful addition to my personal pact with Goa, this place has earned a permanent spot on my list. Every single time I’m in Goa, I’ll be here. Everyone in Goa should visit this place at least once to understand what I’m trying to say—because words still fall short of capturing what this place truly offers. Awesome food! Chef Charlton, he is so passionate about what he does and a real down to earth person. Lovely ambience and some soft music playing in the background.
