Khasi Combo Meal (Chicken) - Rs.190 My Little Chef, Wahingdoh, Shillong Khasi, Chinese $$ 12.06.24 After 14 hrs of hospital duty, I was hungry & wanted something tasty & wholesome. And since I was passing through Wahingdoh, I decided to stop by at My Little Chef. Today I'm with my father, @roy.tham . Now if you are from in & around Mawkhar, you must have ordered or atleast eaten from a caterer popularly known as Kong Clarabell aka Kong Lung. They've been in business for a good 30 years now & are known for consistently delivering tasty & wholesome food. Infact it was only till July last year when I had ordered a combo online that I knew that are actually called My Little Chef. I walked into the store with Pa. This is my 1st time here. It wasn't the fanciest of places but had comfortable chairs & tables. The lady behind the counter came up & handed us the menu. I did like the Khasi combo last time even though it was home delivered so I thought eating at the shop might even be better. So I stuck with the Khasi Chicken Combo meal while Pa ordered a Vegetable Chop. The order took 15mins to come. My combo meal had Jastem, 2 pieces of Chicken Curry - Khasi style, Mix Veg, Salad & Tamarind chutney. Prices have gone up by a good 70 bucks in the last one year. The portions looked decent. The rice was fragrant & carried a wonderful aroma to it. The chicken curry brought back memories of my grandma's cooking. The curry was light & had just enough of spices that you could still get the subtle flavors of the meat. And as usual, the khasi sabji was cold. The tamarind chutney helped elevate the meal by a few notches. So there definitely was a difference eating at the restaurant.
