A place for the cool kids. The interiors are chic and modern, and the brown tones does wonders for the greenery in Gangtok. It's located in a less-frequented part of Gangtok, so you will have to drive/ride for a bit if you're staying in the central part of Gangtok. Not too far, though. They also offer rooms, but again, it's not centrally located, so you won't have access to other restaurants and shops. The menu is quite diverse with Tibetan and Nepali dishes, a range of pizzas, tea and coffee, and a selection of alcoholic drinks. I ordered a plate of beef steamed momos (Rs. 240) and chicken shyapta (Rs. 240) along with Ginger Lemon Tea (Rs. 120). The food was satisfactory. If you are visiting in a group, try getting the table with the French windows. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₹400–600 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Lhasa Newar is one of those places where food, culture, and experience come together seamlessly. Tucked away just a short drive from MG Marg, it offers a calm and beautifully curated space with a mix of traditional Nepali and Tibetan aesthetics. The atmosphere is cozy and private—ideal whether you’re dining with friends, family, or just looking for a peaceful meal. The food here is genuinely good, with a menu that blends Nepali, Tibetan, and Italian flavors. Their thali is a hearty introduction to local cuisine, and the wood-fired pizzas are a standout. One of the best parts? You can actually step in and cook your own pizza in their wood-fired oven! It’s a fun and memorable experience that adds a personal touch to the meal. What really completes the experience is the hospitality. The staff are warm, helpful, and happy to explain the origins of the dishes or guide you through the cooking process. It doesn’t feel rushed or commercial—it feels like you’re being welcomed into someone’s home. Whether you’re a foodie, a traveler, or just someone who appreciates good food and a relaxed vibe, Lhasa Newar is worth a visit. Come for the flavors, stay for the warmth, and maybe even make your own pizza while you’re at it. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹1,000–1,200 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
