Had lunch here on a Sunday, so it was understandably busy and all tables were full. However, the waiting was very poorly managed. A group of 13 men walked in despite there being no empty tables. Instead of being asked to wait outside or in their vehicles, they were allowed to stand inside the restaurant, hovering around occupied tables they thought would free up soon. This made the entire experience extremely uncomfortable. At one point, a guest from the table next to us got up briefly to wash his hands, and one person from that group actually sat down in his seat without asking—completely unacceptable. Another person even tried to sit at our table, which I had to refuse. Later, a lady also approached me asking to share our table, and I clearly said I wasn’t comfortable with that. It’s impossible to enjoy a meal when people are constantly hovering over you, waiting for you to finish. I’ve been to many busy restaurants with waiting lists, but this was handled very poorly. I even heard the staff asking guests to sit at tables that would “empty soon,” even when they were willing to wait outside. Food-wise, it was mixed. The prawns and shinaneo were very good, but the thali was average. Overall, the lack of basic crowd control and consideration for seated customers really spoiled the experience. Lazy Fish Restaurant in Baga is one of those rare finds that truly deliver on authenticity and flavor. As a food blogger constantly in search of local gems, this place absolutely won me over! The vibe is relaxed, and the homely touch to the food is unmistakable—probably because the chef is also the owner and a passionate home cook. You can really feel that love in every bite. I tried their Prawn Fish Thali and Chonak Fish Thali—both were absolutely delicious and loaded with traditional Goan elements. The thalis were generous and well-balanced. The Mussels Rava Fry and Squid Rava Fry were crispy, fresh, and full of coastal flavors. But the star for me was the Crab Sukha—a rich, spiced dish that left me licking my fingers! The place is clean, the staff is friendly, and it has a peaceful, no-fuss setting. They also have Wi-Fi and high chairs available, making it family-friendly. If you’re in North Goa and craving authentic Goan seafood at honest prices, Lazy Fish is a must-visit. I’m definitely going back!
