Went to this place based on the suggestion of a local for the authentic kandi peda which is the speciality of Satara. In the business since 1920, this apparently is the original latkar sweets as against the many other latkar sweet shop you may find at places. Well there is one just 50 m from this shop. The kandi peda was soft and mild. We liked it beacuse it was not overly sweet like the other ones we tried. Their bakharwadi, a savory fried dish is also very famous.
