Review: A Total Farce – Avoid at All Costs! Rating: (1/5) I rarely write reviews this harsh, but Lassiwala Dhaba is a complete scam masquerading as a Punjabi restaurant. As someone from Haryana, I know exactly what authentic Punjabi and North Indian food should taste like—and this isn't even close. They are simply slapping Punjabi names on subpar dishes to fool the people of Chennai. The Service & Booking Nightmare Payment Fraud: I booked through Zomato, but at the time of payment, they flatly denied the booking, saying they "don't accept Zomato or Swiggy." If you don't accept the platform, why are you listed? It's a blatant lie to get people through the door. Order Chaos: Service was incredibly slow and unprofessional. I ordered specific items, only to receive completely different dishes. Worst of all, non-veg items were served despite our specific order. Availability: Half the menu was "unavailable." Why even hand out a menu if you can't cook the food? Hygiene & Atmosphere Filthy Conditions: The tables were sticky, and the cutlery had visible stain marks. Speaking of cutlery—they provide cheap plastic, which is unacceptable for a sit-down dining experience. Mosquito Menace: The place was swarming with mosquitoes, both in the open areas and the enclosed sections. It was impossible to eat in peace. The "Vibe": The only redeeming quality was a small trampoline for kids. Everything else felt like a cheap, fake "Punjabi theme" set that was falling apart. The Food The taste was far from authentic. It felt like the kitchen had no idea how to balance spices or achieve the richness of actual Dhaba food. It’s just an overpriced, unhygienic imitation. Final Verdict: Do not waste your money here. Visited Lassi Wala Dhaba for dinner, and it was a huge letdown! The food was bland and overpriced, and the service was extremely poor. It's clear they're trying to cash in on the Punjabi vibe without putting in the effort. The presentation was lackluster, and the staff seemed uninterested. A disappointing experience overall. Don't waste your time and money. There are better options in Chennai that serve authentic Punjabi food with good service. Using plastic cutlery not even have chinni mitti or steel cutlery. Very pathetic experience. I order something else they provide something else. Don't even accepting.
