A Horrifying Travel Experience – StayVista & MakeMyTrip Booked a stay at Lakshmi Retreat Phase 2, Kotagiri via MakeMyTrip for April 18–20. Received confirmation by the 17th and drove 300+ kms from Bangalore with my wife, 2-year-old baby, and 4-year-old pup. But on reaching, I was shocked to be told that Lakshmi Retreat had no record of my booking. The property was fully occupied, and StayVista (the aggregator) had no clue, even though they continued listing it on MMT. All I had was a useless confirmation email from MMT. Turned to MakeMyTrip support—but they were completely unhelpful. For 3–4 hours, they scrambled to find alternate accommodation and ultimately gave up, only offering a refund. That didn’t help me, stranded with my family in a new town. Eventually, StayVista arranged another place—but it was a mediocre option I had to accept due to lack of choice. The damage was done—vacation ruined due to sheer mismanagement between MakeMyTrip and StayVista. Pathetic experience. Avoid booking via MakeMyTrip and StayVista if you value your time, money, and peace of mind Review for Lakshmi Retreat as well as they did not help resolve my issue and drove me away to alternative hotels.
