A peaceful cafe located in the Mawkyrwat market. Food was overall good and at reasonable prices. Ramen can be improved. Service time can be improved as well...anyways spent a good evening time with friends. Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: ₹200–400

Ramen with Crab Stick - Rs. 330/- La Bani Cafe, Mawkyrwat Market, Mawkyrwat Cafe serving Chinese, East Asian, Continental & Indian $$$ Season 5 - Review No. 153 16.08.2025 Today me & the gang are in South West Khasi Hills to explore some of its hidden natural wonders. Sadly as we were enjoying our adventures, we met with an unfortunate incident that stole away 4 precious hours of our trip & kept us busy with the local police enforcement in Mawkyrwat upto 8:15 pm. We were all exhausted from the sudden turn of events & were also hungry. We thought of proceeding back home but I reasoned with the guys to eat before leaving Mawkyrwat as it would be uncertain to find any place open along the way at that hour. They hesitantly agreed & well I led them to @labanicafe in Iew Mawkyrwat. I was confident it was open as Google indicated that they close at 9pm. I remember liking a post of this cafe when it appeared on my feed almost 2 years ago when it had opened. I recalled sharing some pride on seeing a nice looking cafe opening in a small town & not in Shillong. And today that pride is quickly turning into excitement. We all climbed up the stairs to a pretty looking cafe having 2 sections with 2 completely different themes & ideas. After glancing at the menu, I didn't waste any time as I had already read a review of a Korean person reviewing the Korean food served here & was pretty delighted with it as it reminded him almost exactly like the food back home. And so I immediately ordered a bowl of Ramen with Crab Stick. Well my friends seemed to be a little more hungry than me & ordered much more. Anyway after seeing me putting up a story of this place, my friend @godeliene3 informed me that the owner, a very hard working lady, also runs a patisserie in Shillong & is her go to place for lemon & cheesecakes for over half a decade.
