Kyoto, located in Manipal, is a pan-Asian establishment that offers a wide range of Japanese, Korean, and other Asian cuisines. The ambiance of this fine dining spot is warm and welcoming, with a sleek Asian theme and spacious look. The interior design is heavily influenced by Japanese manga and anime, with posters and frames adorning the walls.
The price range at Kyoto is reasonable, considering the quality of food and service. The staff is courteous, knowledgeable, and well-versed with the menu. Special mention goes to Nikita and Gilbert for their exceptional service. The restaurant also has ample parking space available.
Kyoto's menu boasts a variety of dishes, including Shumai Dumplings, Gyozas Dumplings, Tom Yum Soup, Korean Fried Chicken, Ramen, and Milo Dinosaur Pie. The prawn tempura roll, cottage cheese miso ramen, and shitake mushroom shoyu ramen are also worth trying. For dessert, the Japanese cheesecake and milo cheesecake are must-tries.
Kyoto also has a bar set up, with a variety of cocktails and mocktails on the menu. The Pinacolada, Virgin Mojito, and smoked ginger cocktail are highly recommended. The establishment also serves sushi and has outdoor seating available.
Overall, Kyoto is a great place to experience authentic Asian cuisine with raw and extreme tastes. The restaurant's ambiance, food, and service are exceptional, making it a must-visit for anyone in the Manipal area looking for a quality dining experience.
He had absolutely no manners at all and firstly wouldn't provide a table even though many were visibly empty. A staff member who has a moustache and a bit older is the one who then came and sorted it out. Then we wanted to order starters but when we signalled him to come several times in a nearly 30 minute period he would just show us with his hand that he doesn't have time while he was actually the one who was idle.
Then is when he put the icing on the cake. He assumed since we are all speaking in English that we wont know Kannada. Thus, he started telling the other staff insultive words against our table people. Then when we told him that we do understand Kannada and he said he doesn't care and left. Then the older gentleman with the moustache really tried to resolve our anger but Ganapath had finished the goodwill Kyoto had built.
Thus, because of Ganapath will never be visiting Kyoto again and anyone asks me I will openly have to say that it is a place to avoid.
We opted for the Asian menu - and ordered a mix of Prawn & vegetarian Sushi. The food was d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s and even the presentation. The mocktails were great too.
Personal Recommendation:
Avocado & Cucumber
Prawn Tempura
Veg California Roll
Pinacolada
Virgin Mojito
The staff was really courteous and gave us great recommendations. Special mention to Nikita for being really nice and hospitable :D
