I recently visited Kylin at Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj, with high expectations, especially to try their Spicy Korean Ramen — but it turned out to be a major disappointment.I was expecting a hearty, soupy bowl of authentic ramen with handmade or at least fresh noodles, as is typical with a good ramen experience. Instead, what I received was something that tasted and looked exactly like instant shim ramen — the kind you pick off a supermarket shelf — with barely any effort at presentation or quality.The ramen had a hard-boiled egg that looked and tasted no better than the ones you get at a local roadside stall — rubbery, overcooked, and dry. There were barely two or three tiny pieces of mushroom, no fresh vegetables, and absolutely nothing that would justify the price tag of ₹800+ per bowl. Yes, it was spicy — but that was the only thing they managed to get right. Overall, it felt lazy and highly overpriced.The disappointment didn’t stop there. We also ordered the Teriyaki Chicken, which was even worse — small portions of chicken tossed with plain rice, two pieces of broccoli, and no actual teriyaki-style gravy to bring the dish together. It looked thrown together, not crafted, and the quantity was shockingly little.Kylin used to be a trusted name, but sadly, the quality has dropped drastically. For the same price, you’re far better off going to Yum Yum Cha, where you get far superior soupy noodles or any Asian bowl — fresh, flavourful, and generously portioned.Overall, it was an extremely disappointing experience, and I would not recommend Kylin for ramen or even basic Asian bowls anymore. Definitely not worth the price or the hype.
