My husband and I had the fish curry meals, priced at around ₹180, and also tried the Karimeen Pollichathu, which cost ₹900. The staff clearly informed us about the prices while taking the order, which we appreciated. It was definitely worth a try. The fish curry was delicious, though the other curries served with the meal — especially the vegetarian ones — weren’t very impressive. The Karimeen Pollichathu tasted good but was slightly on the expensive side. A medium sized karimeen was more than enough for 2 people The restaurant was spotless and well-maintained, and the service was excellent. Even though we were told that the meals might take some time to be prepared, our order was served surprisingly quickly. We had amazing food at Kumarakom kitchen . The service is impeccable ! our hostess Sandra was great and made our restaurant visit a great experience. The food is the best we have had in Kumarakom ! The parathas are not oily but layered and soft . The appams were brilliant , soft light and delicious with all the curries . The prawn roast was quite good . The pepper chicken was delicious. The karimeen polichattu was well caramelised and the fish was fresh . We went there twice and at both times the service and food were brilliant. Thanks to Ananthu and Sandra for being great hosts.
