The Kumaon Café is a purely outdoor seating affair, good for sunny, warm days. Good for families as there's some colourful slides and swings here. The café, though, is run very casually and informally. It opens well after 10am, so skip the idea of breakfast here. The food, though affordable, could take a while to arrive, so you better not be in a hurry, enjoy the sun, and keep yourself amused. The masala chai I ordered the first day was disappointing. Both the quantity and quality. The cornflakes and hot milk I ordered a few days later, took plenty of time to arrive. The seating space overlooking the Nar Singh Stadium and the reasonably quiet cantonment area, makes it a nice place to linger. Stopped by Kumaon Cafe during our Ranikhet trip and really enjoyed the experience. Tried cold coffee, veg momos, corn salt & pepper, and veg pizza—and everything was fresh and flavorful. The cafe has a relaxed vibe, perfect for unwinding after sightseeing. The service was prompt, and the food quality exceeded expectations for a hill station eatery. Cold coffee was especially refreshing, and the momos were a pleasant surprise. A great spot for casual dining with family or friends. Definitely worth a visit if you're in town and craving something tasty in a cozy setting.
