I had a thoroughly disappointing experience at Kottayam Kitchen, located near Technopark Phase 3. It was easily one of the worst dining experiences I've had in the area. To begin with, there was no proper lunch menu offered—only biryani was available, which was quite surprising and limiting, especially for a place that appears to cater to a diverse working crowd. Unfortunately, the biryani itself was far from satisfactory. The flavor was bland, the rice was overcooked, and the meat lacked freshness and seasoning. For a restaurant to offer just one item during lunch hours and not even get that right is quite unacceptable. The overall ambiance did not make up for the poor food either, and the service lacked enthusiasm and attentiveness. With so many better dining options available nearby, I would strongly suggest skipping this place. It’s simply not worth the time or money. The food here is quite good, but there are some serious issues with service. One big problem is that they don’t offer half portions for curry—only full portions are available, which is inconvenient. The worst part, though, is the customer service and food serving time. It takes an extremely long time to get your food, making it feel like they only start cooking after you place the order. The wait is unbearable, and it’s really frustrating, especially when you're hungry.
