I had ordered for mutton duckbunglow. Being from kolkata and having this majestic item in different restautants there, i was thoroughly excited. But what came could be anything but not mutton duckbunglow. Perhaps they don't have bengali cooks or their cooks have never tasted authentic bengali dishes. Extremely disappointed. Quantity was good though
Quality and quantity of food is unparalleled! Way better as compared to hyanglas or an extremely over priced oh calcutta! All the dishes are authentic and tastes just like the ones you've relished having in Kolkata or you'd ever want to have as a non bong craving for some authentic bengali cuisine. I end up over eating every time I visit. The chef Abhimanyu is also pretty cooperative and can help you out to decide the quantity as per table.
I've been living in Andheri east for quite a while. Like me, I am sure there are many bengalis who wish to have a close by restaurant. And God finally heard us. We have now this new restaurant named Kolkata Callin' that serves authentic bengali food. I came to know abt ths frm a friend of mine. Then this weekend me and my friends decided to go a try their food.
it was almost a bliss to see this restaurant. But from outside, one cannot make out the beauty of the restaurant's interior. When we stepped in, we were warmly greeted by the service team. We looked into their elaborate menu (also they had weekend chef's special). We immediately made up our minds to have fish, mutton, biryanis and some unique vegetarian preparations.
I ordered Ilish Sorshe gravy which was simply mouth watering. The fish was very fresh, as im a bong myself, i can vouch for this. and the gravy was simply mind blowing. my friends ordered mutton dum biryanii and some fried fish cutlets, we also ordered their weekend chef specials, in which we tried the sukto and kachkolar kofta. Amazing is the word. i simply loved their preparations. finally, i decided to give a word of thanks to the chef.
Overall my rating are as follows:
Ambience: 4.5/5
Service: 3/5
Food quality: 5/5
Music: 4/5
Good food, and good luck guys
