Authentic maharashtrian food in Vadodara.. must try I visited Kolhapuri Tadka near Sursagar Lake yesterday evening for a casual dinner, craving authentic Maharashtrian flavors after a long day. The spot’s prime location by the lake made it easy to reach, with a cozy vibe perfect for unwinding. Nestled in Sneh Sudha Complex on Sursagar Road, the restaurant offers a charming, small setup that’s welcoming for families or friends. In the evening, the area around Sursagar buzzes softly, and the interior’s warm lighting creates a nostalgic, homey feel without being fancy. The menu shines with Maharashtrian staples like Vada Pav (₹25), Misal Pav (₹100), Special Kolhapuri Misal (₹135), and platters such as Tandoori Misal. Evening options include Pithal Bhakri (₹150), Malvani Ghavan (₹60), and drinks like thick cold coffee or CAD-B shakes. Jain specials and combos like Vada Pav with cold coffee (₹170) add variety at budget-friendly prices. I started with Misal Pav, which delivered explosive spicy, tangy flavors with crunchy farsan, tumtum gravy, onions, and soft pav—pure Kolhapuri tadka magic. Followed by Vada Pav, crispy and loaded with ghati-style masala chutney that hit nostalgic notes, and a side of Suran Bhajiya for something unique and healthy. Portions were generous, spice levels bold yet balanced, and everything piping hot—far better than typical street eats. Paired with cold coffee, it was a refreshing end; highly recommend the platters for groups. Staff were polite, quick, and attentive, even during the evening rush, making service smooth without delays. Prices are reasonable for the quality—my meal for one came under ₹300, offering great value in Vadodara’s dining scene. Kolhapuri Tadka nailed my evening craving with spot-on tastes and a relaxed spot by the lake—definitely returning for more misal platters. Perfect for Maharashtrian food lovers on a budget; 4.8/5 from me. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
