Quality mutton, enough quantity, decent price and guaranteed taste. This shop is like a memory, of a time and place lost long ago. There is this sense of innocence and the welcoming feel that fills this place as well as the waiters face. Yes he always had this big smile and he was happy serving us. This is a small hotel and an old one too. Don't expect star hotel levels of cleanliness or anything and the food is the only selling point. We had biryani and mutton perattu. The biryani was tasty and moist, complemented by the rich raita salad and pickle, all of this served in a banana leaf. The perattu too was tasty and had enough quantity for the price. Overall a must visit place, while considering mutton specials when you are in trivandrum. The place still maintains the old ambience, the old table, chair and food is even served on Banana leaves. This place smells like a 'Kalyanaveedu', the smell of their signature mutton roast as you enter the restaurant is the best feeling ever. I ordered their parotta, dosa and their quality Mutton Roast. It was so gooood. One might need 2 servings of their Mutton roast to eat comfortablely. The food was served on a banana leaf, the visual cue of the green leaf and the red- brown mutton roast is mouth watering. The mutton quality is top notch. ( I highly recommend) Must Try - Mutton Roast + dosa + parotta. Note : Don't leave the banana leaf on the table, throw it at the designated spot. Not at all recommended. Had mutton biryani and mutton roast. Tasted like a very average biriyani and the roast was like curry. Very much overpriced and even after paying the price we had to take and dispose the banana leaves by ourselves. Parking is also limited. You can easily find a far better biriyani in Trivandrum.
