I had my dinner meal for 2 nights on Kini Canteen in 1st floor inside Emergency building. Food is priced reasonable and quantity is also fine. Major drawback is excessive use of cooking soda, I felt bloated immediately after my limited quantity meal. 1st dinner white rice was less cooked and 2nd dinner boiled rice was over cooked and chapati was quite hard. Also the hand-wash area is stinking. The open kitchen seemed very very messy and I won't suggest this option. Instead outside emergency building I shall visit outside hotels. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹1–200 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2 Vegetarian offerings: Not sure

Worst staff and canteen, this is not suited for hospital, hospital must allow some others to run canteen than these crooks. They are out here for money money money. No care for food.

Kini Cafeteria, located inside Kasturba Manipal Hospital in Udupi, falls short in almost every aspect of what one might expect from a hospital-based dining facility. The hygiene standards here are notably poor, with the preparation and serving areas visibly lacking in cleanliness. This is especially concerning given the location within a hospital, where one would anticipate a higher level of sanitation. The service at the cafeteria is equally disappointing. Staff are often unresponsive and seem uninterested in ensuring a pleasant experience for customers. Basic expectations, such as a decent cup of coffee or tea, are not met, with beverages often lacking in quality and flavor. Given these shortcomings, it’s no surprise that many visitors quickly seek alternatives. Fortunately, there are plenty of other dining options within a short 150-meter walk, located directly across the road from the hospital. These nearby establishments offer a much better experience in terms of food quality, hygiene, and service, making them a far superior choice. In summary, Kini Cafeteria does not live up to the standards one would expect, especially within a medical facility. The lack of cleanliness, poor service, and subpar food make it worth skipping in favor of the many other dining options nearby. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4
