I’ve been a regular at Kharva Restobar for the past year, always enjoying wonderful evenings there with family and friends. Their food, service, and hospitality have consistently been top-notch, making it a favorite spot of mine. However, a recent experience left me extremely disappointed due to the unprofessional and intimidating behavior of the manager, Manjunath.We went to Kharva on a Wednesday to celebrate a friend’s birthday, expecting the lively atmosphere we’re used to. However, despite multiple polite requests, the DJ refused to play any Hindi or Punjabi songs. I later learned that Manjunath himself was acting as the DJ and deliberately ignored our requests, insisting on playing only Kannada songs. When we approached him to ask once more, he rudely told us to go back to our seats and made it clear he would not accommodate us.Feeling frustrated, we decided to leave. On the way out, I accidentally knocked into a plant box near the road in my frustration. To my surprise, Manjunath, along with a group of 7-8 individuals, confronted us on the main road outside the restaurant. He threatened to damage our car and began verbally harassing us, saying he would call the police. Shockingly, he claimed that “the police are in his pocket” and that they would act against us however he instructed them. It was an incredibly distressing and intimidating encounter that left us feeling harassed and unsafe.While I have always appreciated Kharva’s food and service, this incident has completely changed my view of the place. I never expected this level of unprofessional and aggressive behavior from management. I hope the restaurant takes serious steps to ensure that guests are treated with respect, as such incidents can quickly ruin an otherwise positive experience.
