I purchased an ice-cream from Old Khalsa Bakery, Kurukshetra having brand ‘Havmor’ Dry Fruits Ice-cream with manufacturing date mentioned as 11.03.2023 and expiry date as 10.03.2024 amounting @ Rs.250/- in April end. I had expected guests at my place but they did not come, so sealed ice-cream box was kept in the freezer. But on 24.06.2023 evening I opened the seal and found that there was fungus all over the ice-cream and it was very bad smelling. Then, immediately I approached Old Khalsa bakery but I was shocked and surprised at the behavior of shopkeeper as they blankly refused to listen to me and said it was my fault. I pleaded to the shopkeeper that it was sealed and kept in the freezer throughout but still shopkeeper was adamant and replied that they are not responsible for rotten ice-cream. So, I want to ask: What is the fault of customer? Why expiry date is mentioned as 10-March-2024? What is the purpose of writing expiry date?
