Kenfi Special Fried Chow - Rs.250/- Kenfi Restaurant, near Children's Hospital, Pohkseh, Shillong Indian & Chinese $$$ 14.07.2025 Today is a holiday & after running some errands for my family I wanted to find a place to have an evening snack. The first place on my list was unfortunately closed so I ended up at Kenfi Restaurant, an establishment which has opened for 18 years. To be able to open for all these years meant that they must be doing something right. I have ordered a fried rice combo from them before around 3 years ago, but having at the store is always a better experience. Also this time I wanted noodles & I wanted to have a normal pork chow, but then again I ended up deciding on a Kenfi Special Fried Chow since I was expecting that it would have everything, the entire works. I did notice them keeping Indian thalis as well. So how was my experience at Kenfi? Well here is my Review - Ambience - 4.3 The place had a couple of tables at the entrance & inside it was pretty big & spacious. The decor wasn't anything special but was comfortable enough to have a meal. Service - 4.3 Service was decent. Nothing to complain about but also nothing to report that they went out of the way to make my dining experience feel special. Quantity - 4.3 The quantity was also decent & I could finish everything on my plate. But then again this is me now trying to reduce my intake. If it was a few months ago, I would have still wanted more portions. Quality - 4.4 Quality was pretty good. It had a sunny side up laying over the fried noodles which had Mushrooms & Chicken (yes this special Chow didn't have Pork) along with a side of salad, though the single piece of lettuce was more like a Bonsai. The noodles though were not very oily. Taste - 4.35 The noodles came on a plate. They were thin noodles & had a brown-pinkish color to them. Perhaps the sauce in which they were cooked in was the one that made them special. I also did not get a strong flavor of Soya Bean sauce. I took a bite & they were no doubt good. Not on my Top 5 list but something that you won't find me complaining about either. The strands of chicken were tender but the button mushrooms seemed to be fried to the point of them starting to shrivel up. The egg added flavor & binded everything together including the flavors. The salad added the healthy factor to the meal & also acted as a palate cleanser. Price - 4.35 For 250 bucks, perhaps they could have added a bit more noodles or maybe pork pieces or even better, both. Anyway apart from that, I can't find much fault with the pricing, so it was still ok. Overall-4.33/5.0 If I knew that this Kenfi Special Fried Chow had only Chicken in it, I would have requested them to give me a pork version & I would gladly pay the difference & if that is not possible, then I could have just ordered a normal Pork Fried Chow. Anyway, having said that, it was still a decent order. I wish these guys all the best for the next 18 years. Tried their crispy chicken and kenfi special chips ..it’s basically a processed packet chicken and the chips is a joke . Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
