I so regret going here. Initially we were very exicted to visit to Kayastha Pangat as thinking of we will get to enjoy Kayastha menu, especially fish .. When I checked reviews on google out of multiple I found 2 3 reviews which are negative but I literally ignored them.. I regret now I should have trusted them. We really went there at 7.30 PM such that we can enjoy food. I ordered Sol kadhi soup.. it was just tadka wala Kokum water and the tadka was only of oil and no other ingredients in tadka. Then I ordered Bombil peri peri , and it was so pathetic and soggy as it was prepared before of time and served to us by microwaving, and this was accepted by Chef when we spoke to him. Then we ordered Prawns ghee roast- I dont understand who fries the prawn in cornflour in Prawns ghee roast, the size of the prawn was good, taste of ghee roast was good but fried prawns is full on zero. Then we ordered Sukat masala, sukat are generally bitter and to remove the bitterness one has to dry saute it and put it in water to soften it, the taste was again pathetic. To eat sukat I order Wade.... the size of the wade is too big and it were extremely sweet , tasteless and not crispy and was so 'mota mota' Then I reliased I should not order anything further. The waiters and managers dont know marathi language as they as working in Maharastrian Cuisine hotel and to sum up, the Chef , he is Bengali, he really dont know what is kayastha food even tastes like and dosent know marathi. The Owner of Kayastha Pangat should really look into , aleast keep the Marathi Kayastha chef , who know what they are preparing or he have just invested his money and nothing to do with it. After hearing, my concerns the chef gave us 10% discount which was not needed, and didnt make so happy, I would have been happy if I have enjoyed food I was so exited to Eat that I regret taking pic.
