We went to try the famous Katlambe which showed on Google maps that it is open till 5 pm. But on reaching there just before 5 pm, we came to know that Katlambe are only available till 3-4 pm. After that you only get bun-tikki. We had no choice but to have it as we were hungry. One more thing to keep in mind while going there is that there are very narrow roads and getting there in a car is not advisable. We got stuck and it took us 45 min to reach the place instead of around 20 min from where we were. I am from Delhi and I visited this place with family specially for having kathlambe Chole, as popular in Dehradun. I found it nice and delicious. There was good crowd also at the shop. Signature dish of Dehradun. Lots of people now selling it. But this one is the real deal. Chole are well cooked and tasty. Katlambe are crisp and cooked in clean refined oil unlike other vendors who use dirty oil. Eat 1 portion in the morning you won’t be hungry till evening. Heavier than chole bhature, can eat once a month.
