Vegetarian dishes are on the menu at this cafe. As a lot of reviewers state, tea is really great. The success of Karak Chaa Jailroad, Police Bazar, Shillong wouldn't be possible without the friendly staff. Nice service is something that people note in their reviews. Come here for the pleasant atmosphere. This place scored 4.5 in the Google rating system.

Good food, quick service and the ambience is fine, unpaid parking is available, next to petrol pump, the service is quick, I love their karak special chaa. Karak Special Masala - Rs.30/- Lal Chaa -Rs.20/- Karak Chaa, Police Bazaar near Vishal Mega Mart, Shillong Tea Stand with a few snacks $ 15.05.24 After a long day at work, Meva came to pick me up to chill out & grab a cup of tea. There is this place that for the last month or so I've seen a few bloggers covering it, so I wanted to give it a try. This place is called Karak Chaa in Police Bazaar located in between Hotel Courtyard Marriot & Vishal Mega Mart. I went up to the stall & it seemed to be very popular. I had to wait 5 mins after the people left to get a decent shot. Anyway I ordered a Karak Special Masala Chaa while I got the Lal Chaa for Meva. I took a sip of my Karak Special Masala & it really impressed me. It was very smooth. The masalas had a nice balance of flavors. The tea was milky with a bit of frothiness on top. It also had the right amount of sugar. I must say this is perhaps the best Karak tea I've so far had in Shillong. Only question I have in mind is whether the spices are prepared fresh or does it come in a pre-mixed powder which is then just added to the tea. Anyway whatever form it is served in, it definitely was worth all the hype. Big to Karak Chaa.
