Visited Kapoor’s Café last Saturday for dinner, and I must say it was a pleasant surprise for a vegetarian foodie like me. The ambience instantly transported me to Punjab, with its vibrant decor, traditional seating arrangements, and a playlist dedicated exclusively to Punjabi tracks — it really added to the whole dining experience. For starters, I tried the Dahi Kebab Stick, and it turned out to be one of the most delicious bites I've had in a long time — crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, perfectly spiced. Moving to the main course, the menu had a well-organized variety of vegetarian dishes, separated clearly between vegetables and paneer options. We went with the Veg Kolhapuri, and it exceeded my expectations — rich, flavorful, and better than what I’ve had at other places recently. The Lehsuniya Paratha paired with it was a great choice and really enhanced the overall taste. The only downside was the Mushroom Onion Pulao, which didn’t quite live up to the mark. It lacked the punch and depth of flavor that the rest of the meal offered. We ended the meal with a warm serving of Moong Dal Halwa, which was decent and comforting — not extraordinary, but satisfying. Overall, Kapoor's Café offers a fulfilling vegetarian Punjabi experience in Hyderabad. I’d definitely go back — if not for the pulao, then for those amazing Dahi Kebabs and flavorful curries! I had a rather disappointing experience at this restaurant. The food was far from satisfactory. We started with Seekh Kababs and Tawa Paneer Tikka — the kababs lacked any distinct flavor, while the paneer was unusually sour and off-putting. Hoping the main course might be better, we reluctantly ordered Chole Bhature and Chole Kulche. Unfortunately, the chole had an unexpected sweetness which didn't sit well with the dish. It felt like the chef had a confused palate or lacked experience with North Indian flavors. The service didn’t help either — staff were inattentive and failed to follow basic instructions we provided. The wait time was also longer than expected, despite the place not being overly crowded. We ended the meal with Dry Fruit Lassi, which was the only item that looked promising. However, the overwhelming amount of dry fruits completely overpowered the actual taste of the lassi. To add to that, their so-called “Patiyala glass” turned out to be just a regular-sized glass, which felt misleading. On a positive note, the restaurant is easy to locate and offers ample parking space, which is convenient. However, based on the overall experience, I wouldn't recommend dining here. If you're curious, maybe try it once, but manage your expectations.
