Had the stewed beef and duck—both were solid, hearty, the kind of food that doesn’t apologise for being rich and indulgent. And then, the toddy. A bizarre brew, sharp and earthy, like it’s trying to kick you in the teeth. I won’t lie—it’s an acquired taste, but it’s one I won’t be chasing. If you’re a foreigner, you’re not exactly welcome at the main bar. They’ll shuffle you to the outside, out of sight, a quiet corner to nurse your drink alone. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2
