You can have meal with cockroaches and they are litterly running on your plate....Very unhygienic and no one cares if you complain...It has lost its charm and best avoided
The meal starts with the methi leaves, sprint onion shoots, cucumber salad, raw sprouts and pome salad, yengai (a trademark North Karnataka brinjal gravy), halsunde kaalu (cooked sprouts gravy), soppina palya (green leaves curry) along with spiced buttermilk, Of course, you can also try their gurral powder with curd. Then comes the unlimited servings of hot, tasty jowar rotti with butter on top, interspersed with ample servings of side dishes.
Once you are satiated with the rotti's [or the case when you have lost count of the how much you've eaten ;) ], the regular course of rice, sambhar. rasam and curd follows.
During Apr-June, they prepare a sweet, sour, tangy and spicy mango gravy with whole mangoes of the tiny variety, known as "Ambe Upkari". This is not to be missed during the season. The taste is so heavenly, it is bound to leave a craving. Just a thought will make you drool :p.
A pan and banana at the end of the it all puts a nice seal to the binge.
Amongst the other branches, I personally love the food served at Kamat Minerva the best. The service, of course, at all Kamat's is pretty good.
