The carrot cake was horrible so dry and not even sweet and the cream cheese frosting was nasty and old

“I don’t like food, I love it. If I don’t love it, I don’t swallow….”. - Anton ego, Ratatouille. Now there’s a person, albeit fictional, after my own heart. I placed an order from Kaleido Asian Kitchen, a cloud kitchen in Noida, when I was not very hungry. I was in a really foul mood. Extremely snippy. And in a very judgemental frame of mind. So, let me judge some food as I enjoy doing. I enjoy nitpicking vis a vis food because I know food. We have a very sacred and intimate relationship. I will not have bad food. Called the kitchen. Listening to the warm and jolly voice of the manager, Vivaan, I would have melted but keep my frosty tone. Ordered CHICKEN BAO, sesame prawn toast, date pudding with miso caramel sauce and cream cheese dim sums. Save for the pudding, all are foods I am obsessed with. And I had my in laws with me and a husband with an almost full stomach. The delivery- perfect. So many sauces, not one spill. The packaging - simple adorable. It’s not often your father in law says the food is looking so pretty. My mom in law, an artist- appreciated the same. The food was piping hot! So we didn’t need to follow the carefully printed storage and reheating instructions. The food. Cream cheese dim sums were simple melting the my mouth. And with or without the chilli oil- packed a punch. This is the first time I’ve had cream cheese dim sums that were multidimensional. And the first chilli oil that really will make u go oooof and clear your sinuses all in one go.The Baos- I love baos. I only love closed Baos, which for some unfathomable reason - are nearly impossible to get. These Baos were chicken, and they were just how Baos have to be. Slight sweet covering, perfectly fluffy, so pretty, dipped in the hot garlic sauce- are a meal in themselves. I have never had such good Baos nor such wonderful hot garlic sauce. Coming to the Sesame prawn toast. I ate them last. Tell me, how did they stay crispy for so damn long? How can toast be so good? How can prawns be so sweet? Such fresh prawns- so perfectly cooked and tender not rubbery at all… I felt like crying at the perfection. Have it on its own or with the spring onion sauce, black bean sauce(ohmygodyum)… Left some date pudding for in laws and got the most part home. My husband finished it. Licked the sauce clean. The miso caramel sauce is something you think wouldn’t make a good combo but… mother of God and all things holy, it was mind blowing. My husband initially refused to eat citing a full stomach. Eventually, so tempted was he, he ate more than I did. And was highly impressed. Everything- from the Manager Vivaan’s warmth, to Akshay and the other chefs execution of the food- made me so happy. I love it when food and service are made to just keep the customer happy and when the ingredients are so respected. I came to my in laws literally in tears and left back all laughs. It was the food, the warmth, the service- left me nothing to criticise and made my weekend. Here I am on a Monday without blues. And the first thing I’m doing is writing this. I wish this wonderful team lots ofLove and luck. Please stay consistent. I am so sure you will do very well indeed.
