Good food. Standard maintained. Neat and clean place. Not overcrowded. Perfect for a family meal. Apart from delicious non veg food, the vegetarian dishes do full justice to taste and flavour. Dal makhani is yummy. Easy parking options right in front of the hotel. I finally made it to Kake Da Hotel, a restaurant that’s been on my mind for a while. This place has an impressive history dating back to 1931 when the founder started this legacy in Lahore, Pakistan. After the partition, he moved to Delhi and opened a restaurant by the same name in 1948, and that’s where the magic began. The story on their menu, with the old photos, really takes you back in time and makes you wonder about life back then. The ambiance is neat and clean, with a modern feel while showcasing the history of the dhaba. I settled in and quickly decided to try their Chicken Biryani, which is a special mention on the menu. Chicken Biryani 10/10 - When the biryani arrived, it came with all the perfect accompaniments: laccha pyaaz, chutney, salan, and onions—everything you’d want with your biryani. The aroma alone was enough to make my mouth water. Taking my first bite, I could confidently say it was one of the best biryanis I've had in Chandigarh. The flavors were rich and bursting in my mouth, with two large pieces of tender, marinated chicken that were simply delicious. The accompanying salan added a nice spicy flavour , and the quantity of the meal was just right—not too much, not too little. Just a heads up, it doesn't have that Hyderabadi biryani taste if that's what you're after, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The staff was attentive and genuinely cared about my experience, even asking for feedback. I was surprised to see that, despite it being peak lunchtime, there weren't many people there. I hope more folks discover this gem!This was my first visit, but I’m definitely coming back to try more items from their menu.
